Fully rebuilt & Elegant Guest House Zouridi, in Central Crete

Villa Zouridi Park is the perfect place to relax. We were 6 adults and 5 kids sharing the whole villa and there was plenty of room both indoors and out in the garden and in the huge pool. The house was spacious, comfortable and very clean. The kids basically lived in the pool and the adults liked to sit under the shade of the big trees and socialize in the outdoor bar. John and his wife were the best hosts - always helpful and smiling. We were still invited to the village feast where lamb, rice, wine and dessert. Wonderful experience! The most generous people I have ever met. Do not miss the nearby taverna - only 600 meters. far away. Leftides and serves Roula the most delicious Greek food! Nice beach, just 15 minutes drive (Episkopi Beach), Rethymno with charmig old town 30 minutes and lovely Damnino beach 40 minutes by car. Would really recommend staying at Villa Zouridi Park! Our holidays were completely beyond expectations! Everything was perfect for us! The host really made our stay helpful, helping us with everything we needed, organizing taxis, recommending restaurants and beaches. The images of this place don't do it justice and we were overwhelmed by the beauty of this place and its surroundings! Ideal for a group of friends to stay together while they have the space to not feel like you are living above each other. The barbecue area was something we thoroughly enjoyed taking full advantage of. Overall, I cannot thank our hosts enough for their help and hospitality, meeting our every need. Perfect holiday, I can't recommend this place enough! !

Giannis and Despina have done a great job turning this traditional building into a very comfortable stay. We (two families, eight people) stayed for 10 nights and it was perfect for us. It could comfortably house 12 - so we were lucky to get it exclusively. The scenery is magnificent - with the mountains around the property, the cicadas (locally known as "Jitsikas") celebrating all day and diving on the swallows - bombing the pool for water. We saw a baby prayer mantis, frogs and metal green beetles. There are many attractions in this place: First, the location is excellent. The north coast is about a 15 minute drive (though the beach is not much) and the south coast is beautiful and dramatic 35 minutes away (don`t miss Preveli Beach). In about an hour you will reach Chora Sfakion, which is a beautiful village and is also a hub for water taxis / ferries to other exciting places. It's also a really exciting route with the road going from the mountains to about 900 meters (Zuridi is 250m. We counted 25 hairpins beneath the mountains shortly before we reached the south coast near Frangokastello. We very much preferred the south coast to the north. coast. Secondly, Rethymnon is only 25 minutes away. It is a beautiful old town that we highly recommend for its shops, cafes and its old harbor. You will want to visit it more than once. Third, ownership itself exhausts authenticity and order. It's made of stone, so it's relatively cool. I am sorry for the package victims who limit themselves to moderate chain hotels on the coast. Note that some areas of Crete have been damaged by mass tourism. You can totally take this risk from booking to stay in Zouridi. John and Despina helped with design activities, which was very welcome. Fourth, the village of Zouridi is a small elegant place with 40 inhabitants. You get a traditional village experience - the Cretans are very welcoming and proud of their island. The village tavern is very good (but you have many more to choose from nearby (by car) for variety). Fifth, the pool is fine. Salt water (without chlorine) and very good size and perfect temperature. We spent hours in the pool. The BBQ area was also well used by us. Sixth, Crete is an island by air. The north coast is regularly plagued by a wind pattern that affects this aspect worldwide. Wind power channels and canals through the many canyons and canyons before blasting beaches to the south (though patchily rather than universal). Therefore, staying on the coast could prove to be a frustrating option. Zuridi is land-based enough to largely avoid the wind. We noticed that a stiff breeze in Zuridi always translated into a sandy wind on the coast. In short, if you want an authentic experience just go ahead and book. You will not be disappointed.
